Scalping Trading Meaning

« Back to Glossary Index

Scalping is an intraday trading style where traders aim to capture very small price movements multiple times during the day. Trades are held for a few seconds to a few minutes.

Scalpers focus on high liquidity stocks and indices. They rely on fast execution, tight stop losses, and strict discipline. Even small delays or mistakes can lead to losses.

Scalping requires constant screen time and emotional control. Transaction costs also play a major role due to frequent trades.

This style is suitable only for experienced traders who understand risk and execution speed.
