Intraday Trading Strategy Meaning

« Back to Glossary Index

An intraday trading strategy is a predefined plan that helps traders decide when to enter and exit trades within the same day. A strategy is based on rules, not emotions.

Strategies usually define entry conditions, stop loss levels, profit targets, and position size. Common intraday strategies include breakout trading, momentum trading, scalping, and range trading.

Having a strategy helps traders avoid random decisions and overtrading. It also allows performance tracking and improvement over time.

No strategy works in all market conditions. Traders must understand when to trade and when to stay out of the market.
